Hemp-derived skincare products have become a focus in the health and beauty industries due to the complex natural vitamins and cannabinoids present in the cannabis plant. There is an ever-growing list of research suggesting the cannabinoids in hemp, CBD specifically, can potentially improve skin health. Sunflora Skincare products merge pure, natural plant ingredients with modern technology for award-winning results.

Our Collagen Cream is a popular staff favorite!

The skin is the largest organ in the human body. Dr. Eduardo Muñoz, professor of immunology at the University of Cordoba in Spain, created a fantastic reference paper on the application of cannabis/hemp-derived products as treatment of inflammatory skin diseases, including psoriasis and atopic dermatitis and for the treatment of auto-immune diseases such as scleroderma, characterized by inflammation and fibrosis.

According to a recent scientific paper released by the National Library of Medicine,

“The skin is the largest organ of the body and has a complex and very active structure that contributes to homeostasis and provides the first-line defense against injury and infection. In the past few years, it has become evident that the endocannabinoid system (ECS) plays a relevant role in healthy and diseased skin.”

Here are Your CBD Store Waupaca, Weston, Oshkosh, we say the best way to use CBD is in you and on you. Taking a hemp product internally, like a water-soluble or tincture, as well as using a topical or skincare product externally, is the ideal way to provide support to your body’s ECS.

Fireworks, Lightning, and Road-trips oh my! Summer is the season of fun for most people, but long trips and loud unexpected noises can also cause our four-legged friends to become anxious and restless. Creating a safe space, playing music, and giving them their favorite SunMed Pet Products can help dogs and cats calm their nerves so they can fully enjoy the summer with you.

A few internet searches will review pet owners are using hemp oil supplements for a plethora of reasons. As mammals, we have the same endocannabinoid system and here at Your CBD Store, we see the “Claws and Effect” of cannabis medicine for our animal family members! Check out our blog post from spring 2020 for more information on CBD and pets.

SunMed Pet Products: Tinctures

Our SunMed Pet Tinctures are made with the highest quality, organically grown hemp and used by dog and cat owners alike. We even offer USDA Certified Organic Pet Tinctures–some of the first to be certified as such–available in Bacon and Peanut Butter flavors!

With tinctures, consistency is key. We recommend administering it once or twice daily, around the same time each day. The oil takes time to build up, typically a few days to a week. Once it is in the system, the effects tend to last about 8 to 12 hours. Tinctures can be administered orally or added to food or treats. A tincture is highly concentrated hemp oil, in our brand’s case, we use organic MCT oil as our carrier, derived from coconut oil. The Phytocannabinoid-Rich (PCR) hemp has a naturally high CBD level, as well as an abundance of other beneficial cannabinoids (CBG, CBN, and CBC), flavonoids, terpenes, and essential amino acids.

SunMed Pet Products: Treats

We have a great selection of treats for dogs and have treats for cats too! In general, the treats can work a little bit more supplementarily–best if your pets just need something every once and a while. Treats begin to wok in about half an hour to an hour. Whether it’s Bacon and Cheese Chews, Crunchy Bacon Treats, Beef Bits, Jerky Strips, or Cat Snacks, all of our pet treats are packed with high-quality SunMed CBD (ND THC), vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants–made in the USA with all-natural ingredients–sure to please even the fussiest of furry friends!

SunMed CBN+ Tincture available in Full Spectrum Blueberry and Broad Spectrum Orange

SunMed CBN+ Tincture  Full or Broad Spectrum Hemp Supplement 1000mg

Our SunMed  CBN+ Tincture is made with the highest quality, organically grown CBN dominant hemp extract. This is our nighttime tincture made with a terpene-rich cannabinoid profile with 33mg total Hemp-Derived Cannabinoids per 1ml, 12/3mg Total CBN per 1mL. SunMed CBN Hemp Oil is not an isolate tincture; it is high-CBN, terpene-rich hemp oil.

Unlike our water solubles, the tincture’s oil base allows for the delivery of this brilliant blend of extracts and essential oils in a sustained manner—guiding you into a soothing, deep sleep that will leave you refreshed and rejuvenated as you rise and prepare for the new day.

According to multiple sources, including popular Forbes Magazine, “CBN Is Another Cannabis Compound With Beneficial Properties”. CBN occurs naturally in the cannabis plant as the plant ages. That’s because over time–and when heated or exposed to oxygen–the cannabinoid TCH converts to CBN.

When examining CBD and its minor Cannabinoids like CBG and CBN, research continues to suggest that these cannabinoids interact with our endocannabinoid system through the CB1 and CB2 receptors. These interactions alter cellular functions in the body to create a diverse range of potential benefits and effects. The key purpose of medicinal cannabinoid use is to facilitate the body’s natural balancing process, leading to a return to homeostasis.

“We found that CBN slightly prolongs the sleep time in barbiturate-induced sleep in mice. There is no current information that I am aware of that proves CBN is a sedative, even though it is already being marketed as such,” says Zoe Sigman one of the principal researchers at Project CBD, a leading think tank and non-profit CBD information site.

Sleep is so important, are you getting yours?

In a recent scientific study from John Hopkins University, there are two main processes that regulate sleep: circadian rhythms and sleep drive. Other factors, including environmental stressors as well as our genetics, can influence our ability to get to and stay asleep. An article from Psycology Today showcases a collection of preliminary research that suggest CBN is effective as a sedative, pain reliever, antibiotic, and anti-inflammatory.

As with all hemp products, we recommend starting with a low dose and increasing after a few days, an hour after you eat in the evening is best. Practice a healthy lifestyle the best that you can, try and unwind a few hours before bed with soothing music, a good book, a hot bath, or whatever works best for you. And remember, consistency is key!

Always third party tested, always of the highest quality.

We appreciate your business, and we wanted to take a minute to let you know that our labels are changing. Traditionally, we have printed the total milligrams of CBD in each bottle in the upper left hand corner of the label. So, one would expect to see 500mg, 750mg, or 1000mg to indicate the strength of the oil. Now, instead of indicating the total milligrams of CBD in a bottle, we indicate how many milligrams of CBD is in each dropper.

This means our 1000mg bottles will read 33mg per ml (per dropper). Our 750mg bottles will read 25mg per dropper, and our 500mg bottles will read 17 mg per dropper.

Lastly, we have changed the labels that read “Tincture” to “Hemp Supplement.” The contents of the bottles has not changed, just the labels.

As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out at any time.

Sunmed CBG Citrus Tincture – Broad Spectrum Hemp Supplement 660 mg.

Sunmed CBG Citrus Tincture is our new daytime hemp supplement formula made exclusively with an extract that purposely is not CBD dominant. This hemp oil tincture is broad-spectrum, meaning the THC has been removed while keeping the other cannabinoids intact. It is made up of primarily CBG (60%) and carries a secondary portioned component of CBD (15%). Our CBG Citrus Tincture contains 500mg of CBG exclusively, with a total of 660mg hemp-derived cannabinoids.

The minor cannabinoid, CBG, has a unique molecular shape in comparison to CBD and therefore may be able to reach and interact with different receptors in our system.

CBG Citrus tincture has been formulated with some very bright and flavorful natural essential oils of lime and orange which makes it perfect for daytime use, promoting wonderful things such as energy and focus.

Always third party tested, always of the highest quality.

This is reflected in the lab report that shows roughly 545mg of CBG per bottle.

All SunMed products are made with the highest quality, organically grown hemp. We also offer raw hemp flower that is rich in CBG as well as our innovative CBG-rich water-soluble, Neuro.

CBG rich raw material contains tremendously more CBG than CBD which is hard to achieve, which tends to make CBG more expensive to produce than regular hemp extract. Regardless, we have made this astounding product as affordable as possible for you and offer 10% off online purchases + FREE shipping as well as our weekly “Tincture Tuesday” in-store special.

When you shop at any of our three stores–Waupaca, Weston, or Oshkosh–you also earn one loyalty point per pre-tax dollar which in turn, ads up to dollars for you! Sign up or check your loyalty rewards with us here.

ND-THC raw hemp flower is rich in terpenes with a high level of Cannabigerol, or CBG–is one of the newest products provided by SunMed and available from Your CBD Store. We ensure all our products are of superior quality to meet our high standards. This remarkable raw hemp flower is available for sale in two different sized jars and is packed with Nitrogen Gas to preserve freshness. View our third-party test results, provided by Green Scientific Labs, to get a closer look at the impressive terpene profile found in this flower.

Raw hemp CBG Flower contains high-levels of CBG, which is one of the non-psychoactive cannabinoids found in hemp that, like CBD, has researchers excitedly studying the chemical for potential benefits. There is more information on THC and CBD than on CBG at this time, but research is underway on the other cannabinoids and the unique properties they harbor. One of the features scientists are seeing with CBG, is that it seems to elicit effects by interacting directly with the CB1 and CB2 cannabinoid receptors in the brain. CBG is also thought to be an anti-inflammatory and individuals living with conditions like Chron’s Disease or Glaucoma, have touted their affinity for CBG.

Raw hemp CBG Flower can be vaporized, smoked, used for cooking, creating your own skincare products, and more! We’ve sourced unique CBG rich hemp that has a number of potential product uses. When we say raw hemp we mean that is packed full of CBGA which converts to CBG at elevated temperatures, but so many of the “acid” forms of cannabinoids have been overlooked for their own therapeutic benefits. This new product is not only unique in its chemical makeup but flexible in the raw form! You decide what use you want out of raw hemp from SunMed. Enjoy!

About Our SunMed CBD:

Why choose your CBD Store?

It’s our goal to provide an elite CBD product that utilizes natural plant synergies, all the while creating an informed consumer who will demand transparency and the highest quality hemp-derived CBD products. It is our goal that together we will push our industry to new heights.

About Our SunMed CBD: We use a CO2 extraction process, which eliminates the need for chemical solvents and produces a high-quality, full-spectrum CBD. For our zero-THC broad-spectrum products, the CBD is processed again to remove all traces of THC.

About Our SunMed CBD:

What does Broad Spectrum mean?

Think of Broad Spectrum CBD as Full Spectrum without the THC. To create Broad Spectrum CBD products, our organically-grown hemp oil undergoes additional processing to isolate and remove the trace amounts of THC while preserving the other naturally beneficial compounds of hemp oil.

About Our SunMed CBD:

Which product is best for me?

Every individual has different needs, and this determines which type of CBD is best-suited for you. What works for one person may not work as well for you, so it is important to consider your health conditions, environmental factors, the preferred method of consumption, and desired outcomes.

Most importantly, no matter what you choose, our CBD products are all third-party tested and of the highest quality. Our CBD oils are sourced from organically grown phytocannabinoid rich hemp grown in Denver, CO and registered with the department of agriculture. We also supply lab reports for all of our products, and every SunMed item has a QR code on the label to promote transparency and encourage customers to look ask about test results.

Our products are intended to be used as an herbal supplement and no prescription is necessary. Consult your doctor before you quit taking any medications with the intention of replacing them with the natural and holistic option of CBD.

At no point can we guarantee that a false positive on a drug test will not occur. CBD and THC-9 at this point are difficult to distinguish in field tests and other quantifiable drug tests. We do not recommend you take the product if this is a sensitive issue at your workplace, instead show your employer our HPLC lab reports for our CBD products to begin starting the conversation.

CBD and Pets

CBD and Pets

As more and more people continue to educate themselves on the potential benefits of using CBD and share their personal experiences with others, the idea of using a natural alternative to pharmaceuticals has exploded in popularity.  With many customers finding value in the use of CBD products, it is common that one might wonder if this so-called “miracle worker” cannabinoid can have some of the same effects for our furry friends.

In this day and age, our pets have our hearts, and are some of our highest priorities!  They are members of our family who we like to care for as if they were our own biological children.  We want the best for them, and when people see results after seeking the help of CBD for themselves, they start to wonder if their pets can share those benefits.  This raises questions such as, “Is it safe to give CBD to my pets” and “Will it affect them the same way it affects me?” The answer lies within the mammalian endocannabinoid system.

CBD and Pets: From what research is showing us, the endocannabinoid system works closely with the central and peripheral nervous systems in our body and it is the reason CBD is able to do its job.  When CBD and other cannabinoids interact with the receptors of the endocannabinoid system, they trigger the release of neurotransmitters, which influence the way our bodies are feeling.  The goal of this system is to achieve and maintain homeostasis, which means the body is in balance, making it easier to remain in a healthy and normal state.

Fortunately, the endocannabinoid system is found in almost every animal that exists on Earth!  This includes reptiles, birds, amphibians, fish, most invertebrates, and of course, mammals! That means that, whichever pet might be special to you,  whether they are a cat, dog, rabbit, turtle, or even a big powerful horse, they absolutely do have an endocannabinoid system. Although the results can vary from person to person, or pet to pet, this means that findings are showing CBD to be non-toxic and safe, with the potential to be beneficial to your furry loved ones as well.

Since it is not currently approved by the Food and Drug Administration, there is not much funding for research on the full effects of CBD on pets.  Luckily, there are more and more studies being done that show evidence of veterinarians recommending it, and pet owners using CBD to supplement their pet’s diet for a variety of reasons.  These include relief for arthritis, seizures, anxiety, nausea, and stimulating cardiac health and proper cell growth, which could ultimately reduce the risk of generating cancerous cells.

CBD and Pets: When starting a new CBD routine for your pets, it is important to remember to be consistent and start with a lower dose and monitor how they are feeling, just like you would for yourself.  SunMed pet products have feeding instructions on the label that go by weight, but if you want to be sure about dosing specific to your pet, ask a CBD professional at Your CBD Store! We are always happy to help you and your furry friends live the happiest and healthiest lives possible!

CBD Spectrums and the Entourage Effect

Every day we are at the store, we meet people from all walks of life, and they all want to know the same thing “What’s up with this CBD stuff?”.

We LOVE this question, and we LOVE that people know they can come to us for up-to-date information on the science behind ‘that CBD stuff’.

In this post, I’m going to address one of the most commonly misunderstood topics we run into– CBD Spectrums and the Entourage Effect. While that may seem like the title to an epic 1980s hair metal album, it’s not. What it is, CBD Spectrums and the Entourage Effect is actually the phrase the CBD industry uses to address the presence or lack of cannabinoids, including THC (tetrahydrocannabinol, the intoxicating element of cannabis) in CBD products. This concept is one that many people, and frequently those who have been using other brands of CBD, often don’t fully understand.

In the United States, the majority of CBD products are derived from Industrial Hemp, with the exception of a few formulas derived from medical marijuana, which is only available through state-licensed dispensaries. Although the plant’s overall chemical structure is different, there is research suggesting that CBD can now also be extracted from certain strains of the hops plant as well.

An industrial hemp plant has less than .3% THC, so, when we talk about CBD having THC, we aren’t talking about the intoxicating levels found in marijuana. These low levels, however, have been reported to be therapeutic by researchers and customers alike.

The first CBD Spectrum we’re going to look at is the Full Spectrum. With this spectrum when the significant chemicals are extracted from the plant, all of the plant chemicals (cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, and more) are retained and used in products. Think “Full Spectrum, full plant” and maximum Entourage Effect.

The second Spectrum we see is Broad Spectrum. In Broad Spectrum, the chemicals are given a second extraction to remove the THC components, while leaving the other beneficial plant chemicals in-tact. This is ideal for people who may want to avoid THC

There is also a third Spectrum to be aware of, known as Isolate. In this extraction process, all of the additional plant chemicals, including the other cannabinoids, are extracted, leaving only isolated CBD.

In the beginning stages of CBD research, isolates exploded in popularity. I mean, pure CBD has to be the best right?! Well, not really.

In the last few years, researchers started moving away from isolate based research and began looking into the full chemical list available from whole-plant hemp extract. From this research, it was discovered that while CBD might be a power player in hemp, the other plant chemicals present really DID increase the overall potency and effectiveness of CBD on test subjects, this is called the Entourage Effect! Everything working together for a maximum potential benefit.

Could CBD be the key to healthy aging?

Here we are, three months into the year 2020, and by now just about everyone has heard about hemp or CBD products. Whether from a friend, a family member, in a store or on TV, there is no denying it–the CBD revolution is now. According to a recent Gallup Poll, 14% of Americans use CBD products to support their wellness. While health deterioration is an unavoidable part of the aging process, CBD may be the key to unlocking naturally positive effects on the body’s overall condition and vitality.

CBD is short for cannabidiol, which is one of more than 100 chemical compounds known as cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. The term hemp applies to cannabis plants that have high levels of CBD and low levels of the more controversial cannabinoid, Tetrahydrocannabinol, commonly known as THC. Because THC is associated with getting high, there is a popular opinion out there that THC is bad and CBD is good when, in reality, these cannabinoids work especially well together and both have important places in clinical practice.

Our bodies produce different forms of cannabinoids regularly as part of our endocannabinoid system. The cannabinoids from the cannabis plant, such as CBD and THC, are commonly referred to as phytocannabinoids and can bind to the human endocannabinoid system. Research suggests these plant-derived cannabinoids can impact our various biological functions when taken internally.

CBD is a biphasic substance. When a low dose of CBD interacts with the endocannabinoid system, consumers have reported feelings of wakefulness and alertness. This is compared to a consumer ingesting more substantial amounts of CBD, who then may potentially get sleepy and calm instead of alert and energetic. The biphasic nature of this compound is one of the many reasons CBD is so versatile, and commonly being used by more and more aging adults every day.

While still unregulated– only one drug consisting of CBD, Epidiolex, has been approved by the FDA–much of the data out there about CBD is anecdotal. What we are seeing is that cannabinoid therapy and CBD use is seeming to be a low-risk, potentially beneficial way to treat a variety of complications, especially those associated with the aging process.

Though it’s often well-tolerated, according to the FDA and Mayo Clinic, CBD can cause low-risk side effects such as dry mouth, diarrhea, reduced appetite, drowsiness, and fatigue. CBD can also interact with other medications, specifically blood thinners and other similar drugs so it is best to consult a physician before beginning to ingest CBD products. Topicals, however, do not penetrate the blood/brain barrier

Of course, you want the best for your loved ones, and if you are taking or considering starting a CBD regimen, you’ll want to know the science behind your product. Look for organically grown hemp products that have brand transparency. Random samplings of CBD products consistently detect misrepresentation between their labels and their contents. Do not purchase a product that cannot provide lab reports. Every CBD product should be lab tested by an accredited third party lab with test results available from the item’s label or online. This ensures the consumer that they are purchasing a legitimate product that is free of contaminants and made with verified ingredients.
